Chosen Dogs Foster Home Program

I will occasionally place a puppy that I want to maintain in my breeding program into a foster home. Each foster home is selected on an individual basis. A preferred foster home will be located within a couple hour drive of Healdsburg, CA. It is my objective to breed and show poodles which exemplify the breed standard and compete successfully in the show ring. Each puppy from a litter is the product of thoughtful consideration of the potential result of the genetic combination of the sire and dam. It is my goal to breed puppies with superior health, structure, temperament, and beauty. A candidate for a foster home is identified at an early age. A foster home puppy is one that I believe I may want to use in the future in my breeding program. I will also occasionally have an adolescent or mature poodle available for foster care. It would be ideal for someone who does not want to raise a puppy. The puppies within a litter are graded at 9 weeks, 3 months, 6 months, and so on. Show and companion puppies are sold and placed in their permanent homes throughout this period. Like its litter mates, a foster home puppy would be placed in its forever home on the same schedule. Foster home participants execute an agreement with me which identifies our rights and obligations to one another. Throughout the fostering period I retain the puppy’s registration and have the option to show the dog in AKC events or to use the mature dog in my breeding program. I will be responsible for any show or breeding expense. The foster home participant will be responsible for all of the dog’s maintenance and everyday living expense. I require that each foster home dog be neutered/spayed if I decide that I no longer intend to use dog in my breeding program. After I receive proof documentation of the neuter/spay action I will change the dog’s registration to the foster family to be their forever companion dog.
